About the Role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Level 6, AFC Band 6) covering the Lothians, you will provide specialist palliative care nursing services to individuals living with a terminal illness, their loved ones, and community health professionals. Working autonomously, you will manage a complex caseload, offering expert advice and support while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams to influence strategic goals and improve patient care.
Responsibilities
* Deliver specialist palliative care to patients and families
* Manage a caseload of patients with complex needs, providing expert advice and support
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure person‑centred leadership and clinical excellence
* Adhere to legal, ethical, capability, and clinical frameworks and Marie Curie policies and procedures
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience in Specialist Palliative Care (providing care to patients with complex needs)
* Relevant post‑registration qualification (minimum Level 6) and nursing degree
* Valid driver’s licence and access to a car for travel to patient homes
* Registered Nurse on the NMC register (Adult)
* Ability to connect emotionally with patients and families, providing supportive care during difficult times

Salary & Contract
Salary: £41,608 – £50,702 (Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 6, AFC‑aligned).
Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week.

Marie Curie St John’s Hospital, Livingston, West Lothian.
