Senior Purchasing Leadership Opportunity | Hybrid Working
Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 + Bonus

We’re partnering with a market-leading manufacturing business to recruit a senior procurement professional who will play a key role in shaping purchasing strategy, managing supplier relationships, and driving commercial value across the organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and highly respected business where procurement is a critical function in delivering operational excellence and supporting long-term growth.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will take ownership of key spend categories and lead procurement activities across a broad range of goods and services, including ingredients, packaging, equipment, and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across operations, technical, planning, and commercial functions to ensure supply continuity, cost optimisation, and strong supplier performance.
You will also contribute to developing and executing the wider procurement strategy while identifying opportunities for cost savings, value creation, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver the annual purchasing plan aligned with business strategy
* Identify and implement cost-saving and value-adding opportunities across key categories
* Monitor market trends and commodity pricing to manage risk and opportunity
* Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
* Negotiate supply agreements to ensure continuity, quality, and commercial value
* Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes and systems
* Track and report on purchasing performance, including savings and supplier KPIs
* Lead and support procurement-related projects across the business
* Support and develop the procurement team to build capability and performance
What We’re Looking For
* Strong experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
* Proven ability to negotiate and influence suppliers and stakeholders
* Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills
* Experience working with ERP systems and procurement tools
* Highly organised with strong planning and prioritisation abilities
* A collaborative and results-focused approach
Desirable:
* CIPS qualification (or working towards)
* Advanced Excel skills
* Experience running e-procurement events
