Job Description
Support the environment management team by maintaining effective and efficient information systems and provide administration support to enable the team to meet their business targets. You’ll receive full training and support, including flexible working arrangements to ensure this commitment is manageable for you. This may attract an additional payment.
* Consider and process simple permit determinations, in line with current guidance and procedures, to protect the environment from potential damage.
* Support and process procurement requests for the team to ensure that appropriate equipment and supplies are available to enable them to perform their roles.
* Act as a point of contact for the team, receiving and responding to enquiries, ensuring that all incidents and requests are responded to in an appropriate and timely manner in line with Environment Agency policies and procedures.
* Update and maintain the team’s filing system (paper and electronic) to ensure information is accurate, up-to-date and available for use.
* Assist team members with the compilation of case files, checking that all necessary information is included and complies with legislation, so that cases can be successfully prosecuted.
* All officers take part in incident response duties.
The Team
* You’ll join a collaborative and skilled Installations team, working flexibly across the area to regulate a variety of permitted sites.
* We’re committed to reducing environmental harm and improving compliance across our sectors.
* Some travelling will be required. You’ll be able to work in a dispersed team.
Experience and Skills Required
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Good telephone skills.
* Attention to detail, able to work on own initiative.
* Computer literacy is essential.
* Business administration skills.
* Educated to “A” Level or equivalent in appropriate subjects.
* Driver's licence is desirable but not essential.
