We are now looking for a talented and organised Kitchen Manager to join our team and lead the kitchen operation.
Role Overview
The Kitchen Manager will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service during our busy breakfast and daytime shifts. You will manage stock, supervise and support kitchen staff, maintain food safety standards, and work closely with management to deliver an outstanding dining experience that matches our award-winning reputation.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate, and manage the kitchen team to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes.
* Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring consistency with Café 100 standards.
* Maintain kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP).
* Monitor and manage stock levels, place supplier orders, and control waste.
* Develop, cost, and update menu items in collaboration with management.
* Schedule and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient staffing during peak times.
* Train and mentor team members to build skills and maintain high morale.
* Manage daily kitchen operations within budget, monitoring food and labour costs.
* Ensure smooth coordination with front-of-house staff for timely service.
* Report to the General Manager on kitchen performance, needs, and improvements.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a busy kitchen.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and compliance.
* Ability to manage budgets, stock, and staff scheduling effectively.
* A passion for delivering high-quality food and customer satisfaction.
* Organised, reliable, and able to thrive under pressure during busy shifts.
