We have a rare opportunity for you to join our small, dedicated Licensing team as a Licensing Enforcement Officer. You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance across a wide range of licensed activities—from taxis and alcohol premises to animal welfare and gambling.
You will carry out inspections, investigate complaints, and take enforcement action where necessary, including formal legal proceedings. This is a dynamic and varied role that involves working independently in the community, liaising with stakeholders, and representing the Council at hearings and tribunals.
You will have strong investigative skills, a solid understanding of licensing legislation, and experience in enforcement procedures including PACE and RIPA. You will have excellent communication and analytical abilities, confidence in presenting evidence, and a commitment to high-quality service. A Level 3 Award for Animal Licensing Inspectors and a full driving licence to travel around our borough are essential. If you're adaptable, self-motivated, and ready to make a difference, apply now.
Disability Confident
A Disability Confident employer will generally offer an interview to any applicant that declares they have a disability and meets the minimum criteria for the job as defined by the employer. It is important to note that in certain recruitment situations such as high-volume, seasonal, and high-peak times, the employer may wish to limit the overall numbers of interviews offered to both disabled people and non-disabled people.
