Project Supervisor – Developer Funded Works Programme – North London Local Authority Permanent Position
Hybrid: Primarily site-based (4–5 days), with 1 day WFH flexibility
We are recruiting for a Project Supervisor to join a North London Local Authority within their Development Control Team. This is a permanent opportunity overseeing a portfolio of developer-funded schemes, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget and to the required standard.
You’ll take responsibility for supervising resurfacing works, vehicle crossovers, minor traffic management schemes, and a range of improvement projects. The role focuses on contractor management, stakeholder engagement, customer service excellence and ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, contract requirements and health & safety legislation.
This is an excellent position for someone with strong site experience, a proactive approach and confidence managing multiple live projects.
Responsibilities
Supervise a portfolio of developer-funded highway projects including carriageway/footway resurfacing, crossovers and minor traffic management schemes.
Ensure all projects are delivered to programme, specification and budget.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contract requirements and health & safety standards.
Oversee site inspections, resolve day-to-day issues and ensure works are completed “right first time.”
Maintain stakeholder engagement and provide a high level of customer service.
Ensure accurate reporting, completion sign-off and adherence to policy and standing orders.
Liaise with internal teams, contractors, residents and external partners.
Support programme delivery, escalating risks and ensuring all works remain on track.
Occasional out-of-hours working where required to support delivery.Requirements
Experience supervising highways or construction-related projects.
Strong understanding of site safety, compliance and contractor management.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent schemes and resolve issues efficiently.
Confident working independently and maintaining accurate records.
