Overview
Class Teacher needed for an SEN School in Uxbridge. This specialist school serves students aged 11-19 with a range of SEN needs including complex needs and autism. You will teach a range of subjects following school plans, curriculum and schemes of work. You will need to have QTS and some SEN experience.
Responsibilities
* The teacher will be responsible for the progress of all pupils in their specialism.
* The teacher will coordinate the work of a team of SEN TAs as well as providing required direct teaching time to meet the needs of the class groups and pupils.
* To look at our pupils holistically and to draw on a wide range of social care and teaching strategies to meet pupil needs whilst promoting interest and ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils.
* Delivering lessons that are pupil-focused and creative, according to an agreed timetable
* Provide opportunities for pupils to experience/understand English subjects in a range of contexts.
Qualifications & Requirements
* QTS and SEN experience preferred.
* You must be able to deliver outstanding teaching and learning alongside a multi-disciplinary classroom team.
* Experience leading in your subject area and clear ideas of how to achieve exceptional progress for students.
* Ability to ensure that pupils fulfil their potential and that you are ambitious in your expectations.
* Calm demeanour with the ability to maintain a sense of humour under pressure.
* Understanding and commitment to safeguarding children.
