Senior Scientist in Revvity Minix Reference Standards
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Scientist to join the Mimix R&D team based in Cambridge, UK. The candidate will contribute to the development of novel cell line-derived reference materials. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic scientist interested in genetics, oncology, and diagnostics. It is a lab-based position requiring self-motivation, the ability to work under tight timelines, and adaptability in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
As a Senior Scientist, you are expected to independently manage multiple projects, provide scientific guidance to junior colleagues, and leverage your knowledge and problem-solving skills to influence research directions. You should be capable of conducting high-quality, complex research while staying informed about developments in oncology and neonatal testing. The role also involves participating in cross-functional teams and acting as a project lead when necessary. Additionally, the candidate will actively present posters and talks at international scientific conferences and develop internal and external networks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Critically develop, evaluate, and apply new technologies for developing reference materials.
2. Plan and perform proof-of-concept experiments in therapeutically relevant cell types (human primary cells and iPSC).
3. Design and independently perform experiments following project plans.
4. Analyze and interpret experimental data; troubleshoot, discuss results, identify next steps, and escalate key data as needed.
5. Contribute ideas and help shape future project directions.
6. Prepare high-quality data packages, reports, and conference presentations, effectively communicating results to internal stakeholders and external partners.
7. Maintain awareness of current techniques/technologies and apply them to develop reference materials.
8. Report on milestones and project status.
9. Support R&D functions within Revvity as an effective team member.
10. Occasionally assist the commercial team with high-quality data packages and customer calls.
Minimum Qualifications
* A Ph.D. in cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, or a closely related field, with at least 5 years of postdoctoral or industry experience.
* Experience with DNA/RNA and molecular biology technologies, including NGS.
* Experience working with human primary cells.
* Extensive cell culture experience.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong troubleshooting skills and adaptability to evolving priorities.
