Job Summary
The Performance Info Engineer within a pod is responsible for delivering robust ingestion, transformation, and load routines that underpin the organisation’s analytics platform. Working from the design established by the Data Architect and the requirements defined by the Performance Analyst, the Performance Info Engineer ensures high‑quality, reliable data pipelines to support business intelligence and analytical activities, enabling Performance Analysts to visualise key information and communicate actionable insights. These insights help the organisation assess safety, quality, time, and cost impacts of current business processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
* Use agile delivery methodologies with Azure DevOps to structure and manage user stories, tasks, dependencies, and issues.
* Understand the high‑level architecture and align data products to key business objectives, monitoring safety, quality, time, and cost.
* Review and interpret requirements and functional designs to produce accurate, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions for data products.
* Implement data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics and BI systems.
* Document source‑to‑target mappings and transformation logic.
* Re‑engineer manual data flows to enable scaling, automation, and repeatable use.
* Support the build and operation of data streaming and batch processing systems.
* Write ETL/ELT scripts and code to ensure pipelines perform optimally and reliably.
* Develop business intelligence datasets and semantic models reusable across reporting and analytics.
* Build accessible, high‑quality data for analysis, ensuring alignment with data standards and architectural principles.
Qualifications
* Degree level or equivalent in a related subject or business‑relevant subject.
* Experience of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) methods aligned to agile practices, for example Azure DevOps release pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
* Significant experience programming using structured query languages, for example SQL on platforms such as Databricks SQL, with the ability to design complex queries and optimise performance.
* Experience programming using Object‑Oriented or Functional Languages, for example Python or Scala.
* Experience programming using statistical languages, for example R, where appropriate to analytical or data transformation workloads.
