Cumbria Constabulary are looking for a highly motivated individual to join their police staff team to take on the newly created role of Child protection scrutiny improvement coordinator, under the public protection unit.

The role will require Full time working but flexibility in working hours and working location can be supported.
.
The individual will support the Constabulary to identify, develop and embed continuous improvement as part of the delivering excellence, business improvement strategy.
.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone wishing to broaden their understanding of the Constabulary, develop themselves and influence change. The successful applicant would work as part of a small team, based at Police HQ with the flexibility of remote working where circumstances allow.

As part of their duties, they would work to:

Support Commanders and Directors to develop their improvement strategies.
Ensure HMIC actions are delivered.
Prepare for future HMIC inspections.
Undertake audit work.
Write reports.
Identify potential new and improved ways of working and support the Constabulary to implement these.
Deliver briefings and learning products to improve performance.
Create solutions to improve performance e.g. improved processes and use of technology.
Monitor and track improvements.

Previous experience of Microsoft excel and word, undertaking improvement activity which includes auditing systems and processes would be desirable but is not essential together with a broad understanding of or extensive operational experience within Policing.
