Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Pharmacy Technician in Lincolnshire to support GP practices within the PCN. The position will be based at Caistor Health Centre. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Pharmacy Technician with a minimum of two years experience to join our existing PCN pharmacists team. The successful candidate will play an important role in complementing our clinical pharmacists and other members of the PCN multi‑disciplinary team.
Responsibilities
* Provide face‑to‑face structured medication reviews, especially for older people, residents in care homes and patients with multiple comorbidities.
* Manage long‑term conditions and medicines on transfer of care, including repeat prescription authorisations, re‑authorisation, acute prescription requests and support clinical audit.
* Collaborate with the PCN clinical pharmacists, GP practice team (pharmacists, nurses, occupational therapists, social prescribers, physiotherapists) and other multidisciplinary members to promote high‑quality prescribing, improve safe prescribing systems and optimise management of long‑term conditions.
* Liaise with clinicians and administrative staff to resolve medicines‑related queries and monitor practice prescribing adherence to local and national policies.
* Improve service and quality through mechanisms such as audit, including promotion of repeat dispensing and online ordering to minimise clinical risk and reduce wasted medicines.
* Support patients and carers to achieve best outcomes from their medicines.
Qualifications
Essential
* Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Educated to GCSE level.
Desirable
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Skills.
Experience
Essential
* Experience in highly specialised clinical technical services and advice concerning care, including reviewing prescriptions, providing specialised advice on doses, possible side effects of drugs, risk management and compliance with medicines legislation.
Desirable
* General practice experience.
