Role Purpose
As the director for the product, you will develop a team of modellers, researchers, product managers, market experts, and sales executives to form the operating model for product growth.
This is a high-priority role within Ricardo, suited for someone with expert knowledge of the wholesale electricity and power markets across Europe, experience in delivering and managing product businesses and KPIs/P&Ls, plus foundational knowledge of medium to long-term projections modelling concepts and software.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership: You’ll balance the delivery of subscription product commercial plans and projects with leading, coaching, and inspiring teams of analysts and energy modellers, exemplifying Ricardo’s values, improving performance, and developing their full potential.
2. Project delivery: Develop a clear understanding of target markets and customers, defining the medium- and long-term strategic direction of the product business. Oversee the implementation across multiple regions, providing stakeholders with the necessary orientation to achieve business objectives.
3. Market knowledge: Possess an expert understanding of electricity and power markets, using this knowledge to create content and presence in the industry, gaining thought leadership reputation, and furthering the growth of the subscription product.
4. Developing new business: Independently build and deepen customer and market relationships across Europe, using these to enhance the brand and reputation of the product and organization. Act as the internal CEO of the product.
Key Competencies and Experience
* Demonstrate drive and passion to achieve the introduction, growth, and scaling of a new business, with commercial acumen to meet targets.
* Extensive experience delivering complex products/services within the power sector and wholesale electricity markets.
* Strong financial management skills, managing costs and revenue trade-offs effectively.
* Collaborative, empathetic leadership style that inspires and develops teams.
* Impactful personal presence to create high-quality products, combining analytics, modelling, and clear insights presentation.
* Native English speaker or equivalent proficiency.
