Job Summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic nurse to join the Intensive Care Unit at Withybush General Hospital as a Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse. This is a fixed-term/secondment post for 18 months, offering a chance to lead and develop within a dynamic critical care environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the ICU team, ensuring safe, individualised, and effective patient care.
* Manage the nursing skill mix and provide clinical leadership.
* Support staff development and maintain high standards under pressure.
* Demonstrate effective communication and calm decision-making in complex situations.
* Provide highly specialist advice and clinical leadership to support and develop the nursing team within the department and specialty.
* Work with the Senior Nurse Manager to develop and review standards of direct nursing care, based on research evidence and audit outcomes.
* Ensure agreed standards of care are consistently delivered to patients.
* Maintain a safe environment for staff and patients.
* Offer specialist clinical advice within the multidisciplinary team and support services.
* Promote and maintain good working relationships across the multidisciplinary team.
Essential Criteria
* Managerial experience in ITU.
* Proven leadership skills.
* Critical Care Qualification.
* NMC Registration.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Interviews to be held on 07/11/2025.
