Pastoral Mentor, Bury, BL9 — £105 - £120 per day. Temporary to Permanent contract. Immediate start. Working hours: Mon to Fri, 8:30am to 3:30pm.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Mentor to join a thriving secondary school in the Bury area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by supporting their personal, social, and emotional development alongside their academic journey. As a Pastoral Mentor, you will play a vital role in building positive relationships with students, supporting behaviour management strategies, and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to students requiring additional support.
* Act as a positive role model and trusted adult for young people.
* Support students in managing behaviour, attendance, and emotional well-being.
* Work closely with the school's pastoral team, teaching staff, and external agencies.
* Monitor and track progress, ensuring interventions have impact.
Qualifications / Experience
* Experience of working with young people in an educational, youth work, or mentoring capacity.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach.
* Ability to support students facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Able to commute to the Bury area.
