Position Overview The Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at UHD is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team as a Speciality Doctor in hand surgery and trauma, working with Miss Higgins, Mr O’Connor, Mr Richards and Mr Southgate who specialise in Hand Surgery.
Key Responsibilities
Working alongside our existing specialty doctors and registrars to provide care to inpatients including new admissions.
Supervision and support of junior medical colleagues, Physicians Associates and Advanced Nurse Practitioners/Advanced Clinical Practitioners.
Maintaining continued professional development.
Attending ward multidisciplinary meetings.
Attending and contributing to educational sessions and Clinical Governance meetings.
Partaking in departmental Quality Improvement work.
Participating in the hospital appraisal process as part of on‑going professional development.
Weekend working will be expected in this role.
Relocation and Travel There will be a planned move for this service where the role and base of work will relocate to the Bournemouth Hospital site. Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance/reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the postholder’s home and work base will be classified as a commute.
