Job Description
* Mechanical Inspection and Repair works on mobile plant including road vehicles, forklift trucks, mobile cranes, dockside & gantry cranes, cherry pickers and scissor lifts.
* Mechanical refurbishment of pumps, valves, gearboxes, hydraulic components and dock specific equipment (capstans / winches / Gates)
* Mechanical Inspection, Servicing and Testing of long travel, cross travel, hoist, racking, luffing systems on Dockside / Gantry / EOT cranes.
* Mechanical Inspections, Servicing and Testing of brake units on long travel, cross travel, hoist, racking, luffing systems on Dockside / Gantry / EOT cranes.
* Diesel engine servicing (road vehicles / forklift trucks / cherry pickers).
* Vessel services – connection of water supply and cooling discharge hoses to dockside infrastructure and onboard vessels
* Interpret Parts Manuals, Schematic Drawings and Parts Lists
* Interpret Oral & Written Instructions
* Interpret Health & Safety Arrangements
* Operate Equipment & Tools e.g., lathes & milling machines
Qualifications
* Experienced Maintenance Fitter in a similar environment
* Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
* Familiarity with a wide range of hand and power tools used in maintenance and repair work.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
