Your Role: Site Compliance Officer As a Site Compliance Officer, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring Sizewell C meets its regulatory and environmental obligations. You’ll work closely with managers, contractors, and consultants to uphold the standards of the Nuclear Site Licence, planning permissions, and environmental consents. This is a hands-on role combining strategic oversight with on-the-ground inspections, compliance assessments, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll be a trusted advisor, a mentor, and a key player in fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Your work will directly support the safe, lawful, and efficient delivery of this nationally significant infrastructure project. Key Responsibilities You’ll be responsible for ensuring that all activities on the Sizewell C site are conducted in full alignment with regulatory, environmental, and planning obligations. Your role will be central to maintaining high standards of compliance and supporting the delivery of a safe, sustainable, and legally compliant project. Compliance Assessments : Conduct structured site assessments to ensure adherence to the Nuclear Site Licence (NSL), planning permissions, environmental consents, and lease obligations. Use findings to support performance improvements. Site Inspections : Carry out regular inspections of construction and operational activities, document findings, escalate issues, and support corrective actions. Monitoring & Reporting : Lead compliance monitoring on the Sizewell C site and produce monthly dashboards highlighting key trends and improvement areas. Managerial Support : Work with managers to clarify compliance responsibilities and help refine practical, effective compliance arrangements. Expert Guidance : Provide accurate, timely advice on NSL, planning, and lease compliance. Act as a subject matter expert to support decision-making and risk management. Training & Awareness : Develop and deliver training and mentoring to build compliance awareness and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Compliance Documentation : Contribute to the creation of clear, robust compliance arrangements aligned with regulatory expectations. Stakeholder Engagement : Facilitate communication with internal teams and external partners. Deliver targeted briefings to address compliance issues. Contractor Oversight : Review contractor plans and documentation to ensure alignment with compliance frameworks. Represent the compliance team in third-party evaluations. What We’re Looking For Essential Skills & Experience: We are seeking candidates with proven experience in auditing standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, ideally within an engineering or construction environment. Key attributes for success in this role include: Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of a project. Exceptional attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently. A collaborative mindset, contributing positively to team dynamics, communication, and overall project success. Proven ability to support multiple stakeholders, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving workload conflicts. Confidence in handling complex enquiries and solving unique challenges independently. High level of discretion and confidentiality, particularly when managing sensitive or personal information. A flexible and integrated approach, with the ability to multitask and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. Experience in data collection and tracking of key performance indicators or compliance-related activities.
