Rate: £28.97 PAYE or £39.24 Umbrella
Our client in the rail sector is looking to recruit a CNC Machinist to work in the wheel section of the Railway engineering works.
They are using the Okuma system. But anyone with CNC experience can be trained on that.
Skills
Ability to read, understand and comply with Engineering Drawings and specifications for machining
Ability to machine materials, to specification, using appropriate tools to maintain quality and complying with the relevant safety procedures.
Ability to manufacture products with or without specification.
Ability to clean, oil and lubricate machines using appropriate methods.
Ability to operate electric overhead cranes safely.
Ability to carry out the full range of Workshop calculations.
Ability to inspect material and judge its quality for use.
Ability to save and record amendments, failures of part programmes and report them to the System Manager (Tool and Plant Engineer).
Ability to inspect finished components to specification.
Ability to read, understand and comply with requirements of the Quality Plan.
Ability to carry out programming and prove out of components on CNC machine tools.
Ability to familiarise other employees in job product requirements.
Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of rules and regulations relating to the job and ability to execute them.
Ability to comprehend LUL practices on smoking, alcohol, drugs and attendance to work and must comply with them.
Ability to communicate effectively with managers, other members of staff, customers and suppliers.
Must be physically fit and reach LUL medical standards of fitness as appropriate to the job.
Knowledge & Experience
Must have served an Engineering apprenticeship and/or have the technical knowledge and relevant production skills to set and operate a wide range of machine tools to manufacture items to a high standard form complex drawings or specifications.
Experience of programming and setting CNC, NC or equivalent machines is an essential requirement of the job
