Job Title: Anesthesiologist
East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) is an 80-bed regional referral centre serving approximately 82,000 residents in the East Kootenay region of British Columbia.
Practice Details
As an anesthesiologist at EKRH you will:
* Lead anesthesia care in four operating rooms.
* Collaborate with a diverse team of health care professionals, fostering open communication.
* Provide pre‑operative assessment and peri‑operative care in the ambulatory care unit.
* Engage patients in a pre‑surgical screening clinic to optimize their surgical journey.
* Mentor residents and medical students, conduct CME sessions, and participate in bedside teaching.
* Lead Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) initiatives supported by Doctors of BC.
Working Hours and Schedule
Full‑time schedule with the option for part‑time hours. 10 weeks vacation based on 1.0 FTE.

Compensation
Alternative Payment Arrangement (APP) Estimated Remuneration: $650,000.
Additional compensation includes:
* Rural Retention Premium 14%
* Retention Flat Fee $21,696
* Relocation Funding: $9,000 (BC), $12,000 (Canada), $15,000 (outside Canada)
* Recruitment Incentive $20,000 (prorated for part‑time)
* RCME Funding: $1,800 for up to 2 years in Cranbrook, $4,800 during the 3rd and 4th year, $7,800 after 4 years, plus Doctors of BC CME funds
* Other rural subsidies subject to change and confirmed at time of offer.
