Overview
An exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse/Prescriber to join our evolving Child Development Nurse Team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. The successful candidate will have skills and knowledge in the assessment of children and young people supporting a diagnostic framework. In addition, they will have experience of working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality interventions and expert nursing care, advice and support to children, young people and their families.
Key Responsibilities
You will work alongside a range of professionals, and a key part of the role will be to manage pharmacological interventions as a nurse prescriber. You will be expected to manage your caseload effectively to improve the experience for the child/young person and family. The post holder will provide flexible and comprehensive assessments and treatment, including medication management and autonomous prescribing within both the hospital and a variety of local community settings across North Derbyshire. The post holder will work autonomously to carry out specialist assessment of children and young people referred with potential neurodevelopmental disorders.
Qualifications & Requirements
You must be an NMC Registered Nurse, an Independent Nurse Prescriber (or willing to work towards), and possess a sound knowledge of child and adolescent development. The post holder will also receive training opportunities to ensure high‑quality interventions and individual development.
