The post holder will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations and ensuring the smooth functioning of the culinary team. The role requires the ability to stand extended periods during busy hours and collaborate effectively with the kitchen staff to deliver high-quality food preparation and service.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensure basic cleaning duties are done.
* Supporting washing up and the collection of pots and pans.
* Keeping the food preparation area clean always as well as the equipment.
* Unloading food and equipment deliveries.
* Keeping the floor, walls, and surfaces sanitised.
* Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards.
* Reporting any maintenance issues
* Clearing all breakages and spillages, following the operating procedure and disposing of them correctly.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* College Diploma or GCSE.
* Proven experience working in the food service.
* Knowledge of Afro-Caribbean food.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Effective communication skills.
* Exceptional customer service skills.
* The ability to stand for extended periods.
* Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual tasks, including moving items from one location to the other.
* Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
