Overview
This is a Senior Care Assistant role at Avery Healthcare, a leading provider of luxury elderly care homes in the UK. The successful candidate will support the care team in delivering high-quality personal care to residents, ensuring their safety, well-being, and comfort. They will be involved in the care planning process, medication management, and staff supervision.
Main duties
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will support and work alongside the care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Your responsibilities will include:
* Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of changes impacting care plans, ensuring new needs are met, and updating written records to reflect variations.
* Being involved in the person-centred care planning process, implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
* Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
* Undertaking staff supervision and supporting staff with their development where required.
* Acting as a key point of contact with residents, relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals, ensuring reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints are escalated.

* A DBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
* Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
About you

* Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
* Have 2 years of experience working in a similar care environment.
* Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
* Have a positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
* Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
Person specification & Qualifications
Qualifications and experience required:
* NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
* At least 2 years of experience in a similar care environment.
* Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
* Ability to be flexible and supportive to residents and staff.
Disclosure
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and, as such, it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to check for any previous convictions.
Additional note
Please note this role will require: DBS disclosure (cost borne by Avery) and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
