We’re working on behalf of a highly successful, growing business to recruit a Group Assistant Management Accountant to join their collaborative finance team. This role will suit a motivated, part-qualified accountant with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the confidence to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain broad exposure to group accounting, reporting, analysis, and project work, with plenty of scope for growth and progression.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the timely preparation of monthly and weekly Group financial reports, including P&L accounts, cash flow statements, variance analysis, and commentary
* Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Take ownership of assigned areas of the P&L and balance sheet, providing detailed analysis and commentary in collaboration with the Head of Group Accounting
* Manage fixed asset and stock accounting processes
* Support cost of sale analysis and related reporting
* Provide forecasts and budget information to stakeholders, working closely with the FP&A manager
* Calculate prepayments and accruals accurately
* Partner with cost centre owners to provide insightful financial analysis and commentary
* Support the onboarding of acquisitions into the Group finance systems and processes
* Assist with external audits and preparation of the Group’s statutory accounts
* Support the preparation and submission of Group tax information
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the finance function
* Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support business decision-making and performance
* Collaborate with senior leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives
* Support the Group Financial Controller and Group CFO with ad-hoc projects
* Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) of finance-related system changes
You will need:
* Ideally part-qualified (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
* Solid technical accounting skills, with strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and reconciliations
* Confident working with large volumes of data and multiple data sources
* Advanced Excel skills, including data checks, balance reconciliations, and formulas
* Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage across all levels of the business
* Curious, diligent, and proactive in approach
* Comfortable working in a flexible hybrid environment with minimal micromanagement
* A genuine team player, able to build positive working relationships across departments
