Due to upcoming maternity leave Premier Solicitors (Bedford) Ltd are seeking a driven and enthusiastic candidate to fill the following role:

Accounts Assistant (Maternity Leave Cover)
The role
Reporting to the Practice Manager, the successful candidate will provide competent and efficient assistance in Cashier / Book Keeping duties. They will provide accountancy and administrative support, including but not limited to the following key tasks:
* To undertake daily banking functions including bank reconciliations.
* The administration and reconciliation of petty cash and nominal accounts.
* The processing of client and office accounting transactions including postings onto the firms accounts system.
* The processing of bank telegraphic transfers.
* Administration of the office insurance, practising certificates, professional indemnity insurance, and file reviews etc.
Candidates should ideally have:
* Law Firm accounts experience would be preferred but is not essential
* Knowledge of financial guidelines with regards to Solicitors Accounts Rules and cash flow control.
* Understanding of Microsoft packages and Legal Electronic Case Management Systems
* Ability to and knowledge of how to handle sensitive and confidential information in a legal environment
* Excellent communication skills including experience of writing concise and accurate reports and summaries
