The Portsmouth Marriott Hotel, part of the world-leading hospitality company Marriott International, is seeking a Hotel Operations Manager to join our team. Located near the iconic Spinnaker Tower, the hotel features amenities including the Cast Iron Bar & Grill, our signature restaurant, and a fully equipped fitness centre. This role provides leadership across areas of the hotel, coordinating departments and working closely with corporate teams to ensure operational excellence, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and achieve financial targets.
Your Key Responsibilities As The Hotel Operations Manager
* Guest & Team Satisfaction – Deliver exceptional experiences for guests and colleagues while meeting financial and compliance goals.
* Daily Operations – Oversee all hotel functions including guest services, administration, finance, legal, sales, and supplier relations.
* Sales & Promotion – Drive revenue by upselling hotel outlets, special events, VIP services, and loyalty programs.
* Personalised Hospitality – Create a welcoming environment, responding proactively to guest and colleague feedback.
* Adaptability – Adjust to changing business priorities and evolving guest needs.
* Team Leadership – Recruit, train, and develop department heads and staff, fostering high performance.
* Strategic Communication – Lead by example, sharing operational updates and business objectives clearly.
* Service Culture – Inspire teams through briefings, meetings, resource management, and active presence during busy periods.
* Health & Safety – Ensure compliance with all hygiene, safety, and regulatory standard.
