Job Description
Location: Holiday Inn, 40 Hope Street
This is a crucial role within a dynamic and fast‑paced environment. Reporting to the General Manager, the Night Manager is instrumental in overseeing the running of the hotel from sunset to sunrise. It is a hands‑on role managing the guest expectations and ensuring the standards of the brand are maintained. The Night Manager will manage the night team, with a particular emphasis on maintaining the security of the hotel and, when needed, assisting other departments to ensure an excellent service is provided to our guests. The role requires an approachable, vibrant, confident and professional personality, excellent communication skills, the ability to work well as part of a team and independently, and a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
* Monitor staff rosters to ensure appropriate cover for the levels of business.
* Communicate handover information to all departments daily.
* Ensure all staff are trained to the standards agreed.
* Participate in any training & development, including creating training plans for your department.
* Review progress of all staff at agreed times and maintain records.
* Comply with the hotel health & safety policy, assist management in compliance, and report any breaches.
* Comply with fair employment policy, assist management in implementation and report any breaches.
* Effectively communicate all relevant information to management & other departments promptly and accurately.
* Be aware of all emergency panels in reception and evacuation procedures.
* Maintain a good working relationship with all departments.
* Secure the hotel building at night, conduct floor walks, and manage noise control.
* Ensure conference rooms are ready for next use.
* Ensure cleaning of the hotel public areas to appropriate standards.
* Ensure staff report for duty on time, wearing correct uniform and groomed to agreed standards.
* Plan for future business and ensure proper planning to meet guests’ expectations.
* Record all sales accurately through agreed hotel procedures.
* Receive & record all payments accurately through hotel procedures.
* Investigate and report inaccuracies in reception and bar staff banking.
* Ensure all staff follow departmental procedures.
* Comply with all reasonable requests from management.
* Adhere to Holiday Inn/IHG Hotel standards of operations.
* Resolve problems and complaints effectively to guests’ satisfaction or communicate to management.
* Ensure adequate stock for department, minimizing wastage and reporting discrepancies.
* Safeguard company and guest property.
* Maintain high cleanliness levels in your work environment.
* Report or rectify any problems detrimental to the hotel’s business or reputation.
* Support all departments through peak periods.
* Use Quore daily for departmental issues.
* Implement procedures to reduce energy cost in night‑time.

Required Criteria
* Excellent Communication Skills
* Excellent customer care skills
* 12 months of experience in a similar role
Desired Criteria
* Managerial qualification or related Hospitality qualification
