Technical Services Officer – Temporary Contract (12 Weeks)

Rate: £21.09 per hour (LTD)
Hours: Full Time
I’m working on behalf of a valued client who is looking for an experienced Technical Services Officer to join their Digital Services team on a 12-week temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical background to provide high-quality first and second line support within a busy IT environment.
The Role:
You’ll be delivering a responsive and effective technical support service, ensuring IT systems run smoothly so staff can carry out their work with minimal disruption. You will:
Act as a first point of contact for IT queries via phone, email, and self-service.
Log, prioritise, and manage incidents through to resolution.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
Carry out hands-on fixes including installs, upgrades, and configuration.
Perform preventative maintenance and routine checks on PCs, printers, and peripherals.
Support the organisation’s infrastructure including VDI, servers, telecommunications, and Microsoft environments.
Maintain knowledge base articles, FAQs, and documentation.
Uphold SLAs and provide excellent customer service at all times.What We’re Looking For:
Experience in a first or second line technical support role.
Strong understanding of desktop operating systems, Active Directory, networking principles, and standard hardware builds.
Confident communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters in a user-friendly way.
High attention to detail and a genuinely customer-focused approach.
Ability to work collaboratively within a busy IT team.
ITIL knowledge or Microsoft certifications (MCP/MCSA/MCSE) are desirable but not essential.Additional Information:
Some travel between sites may be required.
Participation in rota cover (8am–6pm) and occasional paid overtime may be expected.
You must be able to lift and handle IT equipment when needed.Interested?
