Responsibilities
* Working as part of a team of environmental test specialists, contribute to a comprehensive environmental testing service and work with customers across a wide range of industry sectors. Contribute to and often initiate efficiency improvements, including management, manipulation, and presentation of electronic test data for reports.
* Conduct mechanical and climatic testing to relevant test standards, regulatory requirements, and defined test plans.
* Work closely with customers during attended testing.
* Record test results using electronic logbook systems and produce test reports following company quality procedures.
* Liaise with customers regarding specification, conduct of tests, and interpretation of results.
* Coordinate with the test supervisor to ensure work is carried out accurately and within timescales.
* Help develop and refine test plans with the customer.
* Assist with the development of test methods and other departmental documentation.
* Collaborate with the team to implement continuous improvement activities and develop procedures and processes to improve the efficiency of the testing service.
Qualifications
* Essential requirements: Experience in a laboratory environment.
* Highly desirable: Practical experience delivering mechanical and climatic test services, and operating shaker equipment; previous experience in a test house environment; knowledge of test laboratory quality and operating procedures.
* Desirable: An interest in working in a test environment; motivated and enthusiastic with a willingness to learn; flexible approach to work, willing to work overtime, ad hoc shifts or on customer sites as required; good numerical, logical, organisational and analytical skills; good understanding of IT systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to deliver work independently or as part of a team to defined deadlines; conscientious with good interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to delivering the best customer experience.
