The Role Scope
As the Head of Delivery, you will be a key leader in this change. Reporting directly to the Technology Director, you will own the transformation of our delivery capability, leading the shift towards Agile within our technology teams and establishing a new model that provides predictability and transparency for the entire business.
Whilst the role and subsequent team report to the Technology Director, the Delivery team is not intended to solely be a Technology function. It’s important that, while the majority of the work the delivery team are involved in requires technology teams in some way, this function acts in service of the entire business.
This role requires a unique blend of strategic vision and hands-on execution. In the short term, you will be expected to dive into the day-to-day to get our transformation initiatives off the ground. Longer term, you will transition to a coaching-first, servant-leader role, empowering your teams to own their outcomes. Your leadership will be defined by the foundational principles of our new delivery model:
1. Customer-Centric Delivery: Everything we do must tie back to measurable customer and business outcomes.
2. Agile by Default: We favor iterative, customer-focused delivery for product teams, while retaining robust governance for larger, non-iterative projects.
3. Delivery Enablement over Admin: We support, coach, and unblock teams rather than enforce process for its own sake.
4. Consistent Governance: We create a single, transparent view of delivery health, regardless of the methodology used.

✨Role key responsibilities:
5. Lead the Delivery Transformation: Drive the strategic and cultural shift from our current PMO model to a blended Agile and Waterfall delivery function. This includes the re-alignment of existing Project Managers and building a team of Agile Delivery Managers as well as partnering with our Head of Digital Product to build out capability and capacity when implementing our product operating model.
6. Delivery Capability Management: Define and mature our delivery practices, processes, and standards across the entire organisation. Evolve our methodologies to ensure a "right-fit" approach for a variety of initiatives, from continuous product development to major, cross-functional programs.
7. Agile and Project Leadership: Lead a team of Agile Delivery Managers and Project Managers. This includes hands-on coaching, setting clear performance expectations, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and ensuring a consistent standard of delivery excellence.
8. Governance and Reporting: Define and implement a new governance model that provides the CEO and executive leadership with real-time, transparent visibility into delivery health. Oversee the development of automated dashboards and consistent reporting rhythms that build trust and support data-driven decision-making.
9. Strategic Alignment and Prioritisation: Partner with Product, Commercial, and other business leaders to facilitate effective outcome driven prioritisation and portfolio planning. Ensure all delivery efforts are directly aligned with our strategic objectives and north star metrics.
10. Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across all levels of the business. Act as the primary interface for delivery, managing communication, resolving high-level impediments, and ensuring alignment on goals and expectations.
11. Continuous Improvement: Advocate for a culture of continuous improvement not only within the Technology and product teams but also around the business alongside influencing a customer-centric mindset.

✨Skill / Competency
12. Proven experience leading a delivery function or PMO in an Agile and/or hybrid delivery environment, ideally within a digital or e-commerce business.
13. Deep expertise in multiple project methodologies, including Agile (Scrum) and Waterfall and wider programme management.
14. Exceptional leadership, coaching, management and change management skills, with a track record of driving significant organisational and cultural transformation.
15. A servant-leader and coach-first mentality, with the ability to balance strategic vision with tactical execution to achieve short-term wins.
16. Strong knowledge of delivery tools such as Jira (including Advanced Roadmaps and Product Management), Confluence, and dashboarding tools like Looker or Power BI.
17. Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from technical teams to executive leadership.
18. Strong strategic and analytical abilities, with a focus on using data to measure and improve delivery performance.
