Customer Delivery Driver - Edinburgh Hermiston

Note: Availability and hours are described below. This role is a Customer Delivery Driver with responsibilities beyond driving and includes customer service and handling deliveries.
Responsibilities
* Delivering your part of our customer shopping trip by ensuring the van and trays are clean, tidy, and organised.
* Leaving the back yard clean and picking up litter as needed.
* Washing trays as part of the tray wash process.
* Loading the van, checking the van for roadworthiness, and delivering to customers within their time slot.
* Talking to the customer about changes to their order, including substitutions, and offering refunds if needed.
* Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were your own.
* Explaining substitutions to customers and ensuring they are not charged extra for substitutions.
* Calling the customer before arriving if early and contacting the store if running 30 or more minutes late.
You will need
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and support a customer-focused store environment.
* Warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues; understand customer needs and express appreciation.
* Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace store changes.
* Energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations; balance home and work.
* Share ideas with your Manager and colleagues on store improvements.
* A valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
Salary and hours
Salary starts from £13.35 per hour and increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. New colleagues are offered a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week; options to work a minimum of 12 hours per week are also available.
Availability
The availability windows indicate preferred times during the week; contracted hours are scheduled with three weeks’ notice. We aim to support flexibility, and if your available times closely match but do not exactly align with advertised times, we still encourage you to apply.
