CORE PURPOSE We require an industrially minded, highly analytical Maths Teacher to deliver high-quality mathematical instruction across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (A-Level Mathematics). Operating within an innovative Studio School environment, the successful candidate will bridge the gap between abstract mathematical theory and real-world commercial application, embedding advanced statistical modelling, financial calculus, and logical problem-solving to prepare pupils thoroughly for terminal GCSEs, A-Levels, and direct entry into the digital, engineering, and maritime sectors. KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS Applied Mathematical Instruction: Plan and deliver rigorous mathematics lessons, linking theoretical algebraic and geometric concepts directly to modern data science, architecture, engineering, and digital technology. Project-Based Learning Integration: Collaborate with regional corporate partners and tech startups to design live, workplace-simulated projects that require complex mathematical analysis and financial forecasting. Rigorous Examination Preparation: Guide Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 cohorts systematically through the demands of terminal GCSE and A-Level examinations, focusing heavily on problem-solving stamina and multi-step reasoning marks. Data-Led Academic Tracking: Implement consistent, low-stakes formative assessment routines, meticulously analysing pupil performance data from practical assignments and mock scripts to deploy immediate, targeted interventions. Work-Readiness Pastoral Tutoring: Act as a specialist Personal Tutor to a cohort of pupils, guiding them through industry placements, UCAS applications, higher apprenticeships, and the development of professional communication skills. ENVIRONMENT & STRUCTURE Studio School Framework: Operating as a specialised, small-scale academy for 14–19 year olds, our campus explicitly structures its curriculum around practical, work-based learning. The school maintains a compact pupil roll, ensuring every young person is known individually and supported by specialist staff. Commercial Workplace Culture: The campus mirrors a professional business hub rather than a traditional secondary school. Pupils follow an extended working day, wear professional attire, and manage their own independent study blocks, creating a mature, self-regulated atmosphere focused entirely on innovation and academic application. PROFILE REQUIREMENTS Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent (such as QTLS), paired with a strong honours degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a heavily quantitative engineering discipline. Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver strong progress outcomes in terminal GCSE and A-Level Mathematics specifications through explicit, concept-first pedagogy. Industry Literacy: An understanding of contemporary STEM and digital sectors, with the ability to instruct pupils in modern data handling and spreadsheet applications alongside pure numbers. REGIONAL CONTEXT Knowledge Quarter Innovation & Maritime Heritage: Based in the vibrant port city of Liverpool, the school capitalises on a unique regional intersection where maritime logistics meet the booming digital media, gaming, and life science sectors of the city's expanding Knowledge Quarter.
