As the Site / Setting Out Engineer, you will support the delivery of reinforced concrete structures, ensuring works are constructed in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. The Site / Setting Out Engineer will undertake setting out and as-built surveys, manage quality check sheets, and conduct onsite inspections.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensure adherence to Galldris company health, safety, and quality systems standards, as well as project engineering standards.
* Programme & Progress:
* Understand short-term lookahead programmes.
* Report issues on site that may delay programme or progress; assist with preventing, identifying, and rectifying issues impacting the programme.
* Design & Design Assurance:
* Familiarise with design drawings, specifications, and setting out requirements; ensure accurate construction.
* Highlight issues and raise queries to the line manager.
* Quality Management:
* Check ITPs to ensure processes are followed.
* Maintain organised and accurate QA records, check sheets, and inspection records.
* Assist with documenting, tracking, and closing NCRs & defects.
* Participate in Quality Readiness Reviews and Lessons Learned/Improvements.
* Operations:
* Perform accurate setting out duties using relevant surveying equipment.
* Conduct surveys and collate as-built information.

An opportunity is available for a Site / Setting Out Engineer to join our team onsite in Balsall Common, Solihull, West Midlands. The ideal candidate will come from a Civil Engineering background with site experience, preferably in RC structures.
* Experience in Civil Engineering with good technical knowledge of RC structures.
* Knowledge of RC works, formwork, and experience working in high-profile, Tier 1 environments with a focus on health, safety, environment, and quality.
* Knowledge of reinforced concrete structures is desirable.
* Proficient with Trimble or Leica EDMs and Laser Levels.
Skills:
* Skilled in using various setting out instruments and confident in interpreting reinforcement drawings and BBS.
* Computer literate, including MS Office, AutoCAD, and cloud-based systems.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently.
* Proficient in setting out and surveying.
* Ability to speak up on HSEQ matters and lead by example.
* Demonstrate appropriate behaviours and work both independently and as part of a team.
* Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* CSCS card.
Desirable but not essential:
* IOSH Managing Safely, SMSTS, SSSTS, First Aider, Fire Marshall, IPAF (for MEWPs), HS2 induction, Fit for Work medical, TWS.
