Professional Print Service Engineer - Guildford
Location: Guildford/ Surrey area
Responsibilities
* Installing, servicing, and repairing a range of Canon Professional Printers
* Following standard call procedures and maintaining high-quality standards
* Achieving a high first-time fix rate and minimizing return visits
* Delivering an outstanding customer experience that drives satisfaction and loyalty
* Providing a service in first line troubleshooting (root cause of problems) on Production Print devices, working to strict service level agreements
* Achieving a high first-time fix rate and minimum recalls with cost-effective use of labour time and parts
* Using excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with Canon’s customers and across internal Canon departments as required
* Coaching/mentoring Service Engineers (dependent on grade) and contributing to team development and service performance
* Ensuring all post-sale field service requirements are met
* Providing technical escalation support for colleagues when required
* Recording all activities in line with company guidelines
* Optimising customer stock inventory and rotation, balancing against return-to-fit visits as applicable
* Providing customer product instruction and training
* Advising the customer when chargeable work is required and seeking required authorisation prior to undertaking this activity
* Contributing to maintenance and repair practice improvements and machine modifications
* Signalling commercial opportunities to Sales and Marketing (via OSIS on-site functionality where applicable)
* Adhering to company policies and Health & Safety Guidelines, including product safety checks
* Self-development and pursuing further training to develop skills in this role
Qualifications

* Excellent customer service and communication skills; able to work well in a team and independently
* Remains calm under pressure and can prioritise tasks effectively
* NVQ or equivalent in an electrical and/or mechanical discipline
* Highly organised with excellent planning and time management; proactive and problem-solving with cost-conscious approach
* Experience as a competent Service Engineer in a production/commercial environment with fault finding and resolution in electromechanical environments and relevant IT experience
* Understanding of health and safety guidelines
* Full UK driving licence
