Working Hours: 18.5 hours per week (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday)

Worker Type: Hybrid Worker

Salary: Starting Salary is £40,777 (level 1) to £44,075 (level 4) per annum (pro-rata for part-time). In addition, you will receive stand-by payments (on call) of £31.58

Location: Head Office -Loxley House, Station Street, Nottingham, NG2 3NG

Nottingham City Council provides Residential Care for Children and young people aged 9 to 18 years old. We have seven Children's Homes and a supported accommodation provision for those preparing for independence. As an Assistant Manager within our Residential Homes provisions you will work as part of a team with the support of the Provision Manager. You will play a vital role in supporting young people in Nottingham to prepare to live independently successfully when they are adults.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work within our internal children's home provision

You will be expected to support the team via supervision, guidance, appraisal's, audits to support young people to be prepared in all areas of their lives to ensure positive outcomes.

You will develop positive relationships and work with our young people, their families and the multi-disciplinary team around them.

You will work with the management team to ensure you praise and acknowledge good performance of the team and use the NCC procedures to challenge poor performance.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

1. Level three diploma in Residential care of young people or equivalent
2. The ability to assist the Manager in the management of the children, including the allocation of duties and responsibilities, day-to-day supervision and oversight.
3. To have previous managerial experience of working in a professional capacity with children or young adults, or have been in a supervisory role.
4. Directly worked with children for at least two years
5. Knowledge of relevant Child Care Legislation, Government Guidance and Best Practice in relation to services provided for young people
6. Knowledge and understanding of DFE Standards and Regulations for supported accommodation March 2023
7. Ability to make informed decisions and offer clear leadership.

- A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

- The role requires you to participate in the on-call rota.
