Within our MarTech team at Elsevier, our data engineers already use cutting-edge tools like Snowflake and DBT to deliver critical data to marketing analysts and operations teams. We have made great strides in terms of making data available and actionable. We are now ready for the next stage in our data journey.
About the Role-
We are on the verge of a data-mesh driven transformation, across
marketing and sales. A key component of this will be our ability to define, streamline and deliver our contact data product, sourced from 10s of different systems.
Responsibilities
·Implementing and delivering the Contact Data Product, within a Data Mesh architecture
·Driving design and development of contact and marketing data models
·Designing for interoperability with other data sets. Spotting and implementing opportunities for optimisation
·Ensuring data health & quality through monitoring and alerting
tools.
·Working with the Data Engineering Manager to design robust, secure systems that gracefully recover from outages and system
issue.
·Working with the Data Engineering Manager, our architects and the central D&A team to align with and feed into requirements for core architecture and tooling
·Working with Marketing Automation teams to ensure that their requirements are
Requirements
·Have Knowledge of data mesh approaches, pitfalls and solutions and - as a plus - how to apply them in the marketing or customer contact domain.
·Display experience working in Python, Scala or equivalent programming language
·DataOps and Agile – experience with the data development lifecycle, peer programming, code reviews, and automated regression tests.
·Experience with data storage, ETL, and analysis toolsets - including things like Snowflake, DBT, Airflow, Glue or analogous technologies.
·Experience using ETL/ELT tools and technologies like DBT a plus. Experience in non-functional data considerations such as performance, scalability, usability and flexibility issues.
·Experience with version control and automated CI/CD pipelines. Experience of AWS SDK for interacting and calling various compute, storage, and security services, to enable automated data pipelines.
