Job Description:
As a Systems Design Integration Engineer at Rolls-Royce Defence, you will play a key role in delivering the ambitious Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) supporting the next-generation Tempest fighter jet. Based in Bristol with hybrid working, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to solve complex integration problems across physical and functional systems.
Your responsibilities include extracting and defining technical requirements, developing innovative solutions, and shaping verification strategies throughout the product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:
1. Apply systems engineering principles to resolve complex safety, quality, and business challenges.
2. Define technical requirements, documentation, and verification strategies across the product lifecycle.
3. Engineer and integrate complex electro, fluid, thermal, and mechanical systems, considering interactions from component to platform level.
4. Develop innovative solutions using new technologies while managing risk in a regulated environment.
5. Support validation and verification activities, including safety justifications and in-service support.
Candidate Profile:
* Engineering background with a degree or equivalent experience; Chartered status is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of design methodologies (e.g., V-model, Model-Based Systems Engineering) and cross-disciplinary concepts.
* Ability to analyze complex technical challenges and apply logical, innovative thinking.
* Familiarity with product integrity, reliability, and certification in regulated environments.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
