Manufacturing Engineer - Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on NDT processes, including Radiographic Testing and Eddy-Current Testing. You will manage technical projects from concept to delivery, continuously improving manufacturing methods and supporting the development of future capabilities. This is primarily on-site at our Coventry facility, with occasional travel to partner sites. Flexibility may be required depending on project needs.
Responsibilities
* Developing inspection methods and sequences.
* Creation of new NDT processes for new geometries and materials as required.
* Provide lead-time and cost estimates for job requests.
* Creating PFMEAs, process flow charts and control plans.
* Resolving non-conformance to ensure an in-specification product is delivered to the customer.
* Collaborating with customers to optimise designs for inspection to ensure an inspection method is generated in line with quality requirements.
* Continuous improvement of NDT processes to minimise lead-time, cost and non-conformances.
* Leading the design and improvement of manufacturing processes considering SQCD (Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery).
* Developing and coaching Technicians in NDT inspection processes.
* Sharing lessons learned and best practices with the engineering teams.
* Producing reports/certificates/documents to an agreed format.
* Conducting root cause analysis and providing detailed reports where necessary for part quality.
* Facilitating acceptance, concession or rejection of parts.
* Reporting inspection results to key stakeholders.
* Operational knowledge of NDT processes is essential.
Who Are We Looking For
* NDT discipline, demonstrated through relevant experience and/or qualifications in Engineering, Industrial, or Manufacturing fields.
* Current or previously held certifications in PCN/ASTN/EN 4179 or equivalent to Level 2 in Radiographic Testing and Interpretation techniques and/or Eddy-Current Testing techniques.
* Technical Experience: Practical experience in NDT Radiographic Testing and/or Eddy-Current Testing is essential.
* Operational knowledge of NDT processes is essential.
* Understanding of Radiographic Testing and Eddy-Current Testing principles and applications.
* Ability to work with technical specialists to introduce new processes and control plans for NDT methods.
* Carry out inspection duties to meet programme demand and deliver continuous improvement in product quality.
* Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and a track record in technical problem solving, including root cause analysis.
* Continuous Improvement: Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and tools to recommend process improvements that improve overall system efficiency.
* Teamwork: Able to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with a positive attitude.
* Collaboration: Ability to network effectively with a commitment to working collaboratively and recognising the contributions of others, with a “One MTC” mindset throughout project lifecycles.

* Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Documentation: Production of reports, certificates, and documents to agreed formats.
* An industrial background with a sound understanding in all major NDT disciplines with a specific focus on Radiographic Testing or Eddy-Current Testing, ideally both.

* A proven track record of continuous improvement and project management.
* Experience creating and developing standard operating procedures and work instructions.
* Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and tools to recommend process improvements that improve overall system efficiency.
* Experience of developing NDT processes.
