We have a great opportunity available to join Novus Transforming Lives, our prison education provider at HMP Lowdham Grange, working as a Library Support Officer. This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 40hrs per week. Work pattern is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday (10 hours per day, inclusive of breaks) Who are Novus Transforming Lives? Novus Transforming Lives is a leading UK-based education provider dedicated to delivering high-quality learning and rehabilitation services within the prison system. Our business is growing year on year due to our continued success as a leading provider in prison education. Site Information HMP Lowdham Grange is a Category B men's prison, located in the village of Lowdham in Nottinghamshire, England. The prison is operated by HMPPS. This prison accommodates male offenders aged 21 and over. The team's aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe at all times. The prison's mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society. Role Responsibilities Please see the attached role profile for an overview of general role responsibilities. Specific details about the individual role are shared during the interview process. Skills, Qualifications and Experience To be successful in this role, you will need to: Have a high attention to detail Demonstrate effective communication & inter-personal skills Demonstrate good IT skills, working with Microsoft Office and/or management data systems Be logical, methodical and organised Have experience of working in a customer facing role Have a track record of working effectively with people presenting with challenging behaviour or from disadvantaged groups (Desirable) Hold a Level 3 Library and Information Services qualification, or be willing to work towards achieving within an agreed timescale Hold Level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy Qualification in Customer Service Level 2 (Desirable) Benefits 31 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays 2 hours for wellbeing / personal development per week Significant pension contribution Retail Discounts Employee Assistance Programme Safeguarding Novus Transforming Lives is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
