IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Our first step once you have applied, is a brief values evaluation. It highlights the qualities that matter in our work and helps both of us see whether the role is a good fit.
About The Service:
I. There are four people with mild learning disabilities living at the home, three female and one male with their ages ranging from 39 to 67. Most of the people living in the home are independent so they require less hands-on support and whilst they can get on with many aspects of their lives independently, they need varying levels of support in specific areas including banking, food shopping, meal preparation, arranging and attending some health appointments
The male person living in the home needs support to keep his clothes on in the home as he tends to walk out of his bedroom and into communal areas naked. He is receiving input from the psychology team.
II. Another person living in the home hoards and this has led to bed bugs developing in the home. There is currently a lot of joint work going on between Walsingham Support, the local authority, the housing association, psychology, and the persons day activity centres to address the issue with a hopeful resolution coming soon.
III. The role is classified as lone working
ROTA DETAILS:
37.5 hours per week. Shifts and hours can vary across the week, shifts patterns are usually 15:00 22:00 Sleep in and 07:00 15:00hrs with some mid shifts during the day however this is dictated by the support needs of the people living in the home. Weekend working is also required, the aim is to try and give staff at least one weekend off in four, but this is currently challenging due to there being no staff at the home.
