About the Role
A well-established and respected law firm based in Chester is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their busy Residential and Commercial Property team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and proactive individual to support a team of dedicated property solicitors in delivering exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to fee earners within the Property department.
* Preparing legal documents and correspondence, including contracts, leases, and completion statements.
* Managing diaries, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
* Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other third parties in a professional and courteous manner.
* Opening and closing files, ensuring all documentation is accurately filed and compliant with firm procedures.
* Managing incoming and outgoing communications, including post, emails, and telephone calls.
* Carrying out Land Registry and local authority searches.
* Assisting with billing and the preparation of financial statements.
* Maintaining confidentiality and data protection at all times.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Legal Secretary within a Property department (residential and/or commercial).
* Strong administrative and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* A team player with a professional, flexible attitude.
