Overall Purpose
To deliver a full suite of financial management services, including the preparation of month‑end reporting, insightful commentary, and analysis, alongside leading and engaging the finance team. The role is also responsible for developing and implementing robust processes, systems, and controls to ensure a strong financial governance and control environment.
Qualifications
Qualified accountant (CA / ACA / ACCA) – key knowledge in FRS102 and IFRS. Minimum 5 years post‑qualified experience in finance or management accounting. Strong background in leading a team in delivery of monthly financial reporting and audit delivery and controls and governance.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a dedicated finance team, coordinating month‑end close processes, preparation and review of monthly management accounts, delivering clear variance analysis commentary.
* Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Ensure a strong financial control environment, with documented processes and appropriate segregation of duties.
* Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable processes and ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
* Review payroll submissions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and appropriate approvals.
* Prepare monthly VAT reconciliations and submit VAT returns in accordance with Isle of Man Customs and Excise requirements.
* Take ownership of the preparation of annual financial statements ensuring they are in line with applicable FRS102 standards and preparation of annual tax return.
* Be the key contact for deliverables of the annual audit process and contribute to the overall Group audit requirements.
Person, skills, and knowledge specification
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate financial information to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
* Advanced Excel capability, combined with strong analytical, evaluative, and problem‑solving skills.
* Highly motivated and proactive, with the confidence to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
* Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage, support, and develop team members across varying levels of experience, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
* Excellent attention to detail, with a strong ability to prioritise and deliver high‑quality work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* Experience with SAP would be advantageous.
