As an HS&W Advisor, you’ll play a vital role in embedding our Zero Harm culture across projects, influencing behaviours, and driving continuous improvement in health, safety and wellbeing. Working closely with operational teams, senior leaders and our supply chain, you’ll provide expert advice from design through to delivery, ensuring our projects meet regulatory, business and ethical standards – while always putting people first. This role is based on site at our Sizewell C office in Leiston.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the delivery of the BBUK / Group Zero Harm Action Plan and HS&W strategy
* Advising projects and business units to ensure compliance with the UK Business Management System (BMS) and regulatory framework
* Providing HS&W input from early design stages through to implementation
* Undertaking site visits, inspections and audits, producing clear and professional reports
* Supporting accident, incident and near‑miss investigations in line with Group standards
* Promoting a proactive safety and wellbeing culture, treating health with the same priority as safety
* Delivering HS&W training and supporting supply chain engagement
* Influencing stakeholders at all levels through visible, credible leadership
Who You’ll Work With
You’ll collaborate with site and contract teams, HS&W Managers, senior leadership, procurement, work‑winning teams and external stakeholders including clients, regulators and supply chain partners.
Who we’re looking for
Essential
* NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ, NVQ Level 6 (or equivalent), or working towards
* Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and construction environments
* Proven ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture
* Experience in incident and accident investigation
* Ability to produce clear, high‑quality written reports
* Broad experience across construction and civils projects
* CSCS competence
* Confidence engaging with people at all levels
Desirable
* GradIOSH (or working towards)
* Internal Auditor qualification
* Knowledge of CDM 2015
* Environmental or sustainability qualifications
