Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer to join the dedicated team delivering a medicines service from the Pharmacy department at South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust. You will be based with the other members of the Pharmacy team at The Friarage Hospital (FHN), Northallerton. You will work alongside the Lead Technician Manager, Technicians, ATOs, and Assistants to process prescriptions. Previous experience of Pharmacy dispensing is highly desirable. The successful candidate will work full time hours 08:30-17:00 Monday - Friday. Weekend working once every 5 weeks on Saturday (09:00-13:30) and Sunday (09:00-12:00), reimbursed with a full weekday off the following week. You would be expected to contribute to bank holiday working rota. The busy pharmacy department at South Tees, covering the 2 hospital sites of James Cook Hospital and Friarage Hospital, has a team of 200 staff including clinical pharmacists, technicians and support staff providing medicines management, dispensing, and logistics services to the general and specialist areas of both hospital sites and several community hospitals.

This training programme has been designed to support our staff in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the following training sessions: Your Leadership Impact; Service Improvement for Beginners.
After you complete these one and a half days of training, you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer a range of additional in-house courses and bite-size programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team.
Responsibilities
* Work with the Lead Technician Manager, Technicians, ATOs, and Assistants to process prescriptions.
* Support medicines management, dispensing, and logistics services across the hospital sites served by the Pharmacy department.
* Contribute to rota planning, including weekend and bank holiday shifts as required.
Qualifications
* Previous experience of Pharmacy dispensing is highly desirable.
* Full-time availability (08:30-17:00, Monday to Friday).
* Willingness to contribute to weekend rotations (every 5 weeks) or bank holiday work as needed.
