In light of our recent successes we have a number of positions available within our Commercial team across sectors such as energy, transportation and utilities. This role can be based in any of our offices: Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham, London, Winchester, Reading, Oxford, Cheltenham, Cambridge, Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle.
Responsibilities
* Manage commission teams/key accounts/sectors, providing professional support, guidance and leadership as required.
* Operate effectively within a co‑located environment integrated with the client, other consultants and contractors.
* Work collaboratively, forming effective partnerships to deliver positive outcomes for the client.
* Produce cost plans, estimates, benchmarking analyses and whole‑life cost awareness.
* Support procurement activities as required by the client.
* Administer contracts on projects or programmes, including payment applications, certificates, cost control, risk and value management, early warning instructions, compensation events and change management.
* Identify cost‑saving and optimisation opportunities and advise clients accordingly.
* Support decision‑making using data‑driven insight.
* Produce commercial reports incorporating metrics (e.g., EVM outturn analysis).
* Assess commercial risk and implement suitable control measures.
* Lead and advise on the management and resolution of variations, commercial disputes and claims.
* Measure contractor performance and take corrective action where required.
* Take a lead on commission finance.
* Manage internal and external stakeholder parties to achieve successful project outcomes.
* Identify new opportunities and support work‑winning and business development.
Skills & Experience
* Background in construction or infrastructure, preferably in energy, transportation, defence and/or utilities.
* Preferably degree‑qualified in a relevant discipline.
* Associate or full member of RICS (or an appropriate professional institution) or willing to obtain chartered status.
* Demonstrated line‑management experience.
* Site and office‑based experience on a variety of infrastructure projects.
* Background in NEC3/NEC4 pre‑ and post‑contractual administration (NEC Accredited desired but not essential).
* Collaborative, can‑do, problem‑solving attitude.
* Motivation to support work‑winning and networking activities.
* Proficient with cost software (e.g., CostX, CEMAR).
* Understanding of the Construction Playbook, Value Toolkit, Project 13 and public procurement regulations.
