Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a well-established energy and engineering organisation who are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in supporting project delivery teams, ensuring strong commercial governance, contractual compliance, and profitable project outcomes across multiple sites in Scotland.
The strategically important Senior Quantity Surveyor role offers a salary of £70,000-£80,000, depending on experience, alongside a company vehicle, benefits platform, high street discounts, gym savings, enhanced pension, and life cover.

Responsibilities and duties of the Senior Quantity Surveyor role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will:
* Take ownership of all commercial and contractual matters across assigned projects
* Lead the negotiation, preparation, and agreement of variations with clients and supply chain partners
* Measure, value, and certify works completed on site with accuracy and transparency
* Prepare, submit, and agree monthly applications for payment
* Support tendering activity, cost planning, and bid submissions where required
* Track design development and ensure all commercial impacts are captured and agreed
* Review subcontractor payment applications and monitor commercial performance
* Report progress against programme and highlight risks and opportunities
* Maintain robust budget control and produce cost-to-completion forecasts
* Issue and manage Early Warning Notices (EWNs) in line with contract requirements
* Provide commercial and contractual guidance to Project Managers
* Work closely with Finance, Procurement, and Legal teams to review and administer sub-contracts
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
* Minimum 10 years' experience in a senior or project quantity surveying role
* Background within Utilities, Civil Engineering, M&E, Energy, or Oil & Gas environments
* Strong working knowledge of standard forms of contract, including NEC, JCT, and FIDIC
* Proven experience managing multiple stakeholders across complex projects
