Managing Quantity Surveyor – Residential Developer
A leading London-based developer is looking to appoint a Managing Quantity Surveyor to strengthen its commercial function as the business continues to scale. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, values clear process, and knows how to run a tight commercial ship without cutting corners.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of the commercial and cost management across a diverse residential portfolio, overseeing multiple live sites while guiding and developing the commercial team beneath you. Expect genuine autonomy, a direct line into senior leadership, and the chance to influence how the commercial department evolves over the next few years.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead commercial strategy across several projects from pre-construction through final accounts
2. Manage and mentor QSs, promoting high standards, consistency, and accountability
3. Oversee procurement, tendering and contract administration
4. Drive cost control, risk management and financial reporting
5. Maintain strong relationships with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders
6. Ensure projects are delivered on budget, aligned with programme, and compliant with company standards
