John Turner Consulting is seeking an experienced Regional Materials Testing Manager to support operations across its Maine and New Hampshire offices. The role is ideal for a senior construction materials professional with 15+ years’ experience in laboratory and field testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, masonry, and other construction materials in line with ASTM standards.
What you will do
* Lead and support field and laboratory teams, ensuring productivity and operational efficiency across multiple sites.
* Drive quality standards through internal audits, QA/QC reviews, reporting, and continuous process improvements.
* Recruit, train, and develop high‑performing technical staff while maintaining accurate training records.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with both existing and prospective clients.
* Ensure laboratory state accreditations and compliance standards are consistently maintained.
* Review timesheets, PTO requests, proposals, and staffing requirements to support business demands.
* Adapt to changing operational needs with flexibility to support varying schedules and workloads.
Who you are
* Strong understanding of ASTM, CCRL, and NVLAP standards and testing procedures.
* ACI Certifications required.
* Proven ability to manage and lead annual laboratory accreditation processes.
* Ability to safely lift and move materials up to 50 lbs, including soil and concrete samples.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Full valid driver’s licence with a clean/acceptable driving record.
