Join us at Abingdon and Witney College, where you'll play a pivotal role in managing and developing a positive culture of staff safety across our college community. About the Role: We're seeking a dynamic Health and Safety Adviser to support the development, implementation, and administration, of our staff's wellbeing and health & safety practices. You'll work across departments, advising managers and staff, ensuring compliance with internal procedures, legislation, and promoting initiatives that enhance staff wellbeing, resilience, and mental health. Key Responsibilities: Advise and support all aspects of staff health, safety, and wellbeing, ensuring a proactive and preventative approach. Monitor, review, and co-ordinate day to day management of policies and procedures to ensure internal, legal compliance, and best practice. Deliver training, guidance, and assist staff in completing risk assessments tailored to their role and/or personal circumstances. Support and lead wellbeing campaigns, including mental health awareness, stress management, and healthy workplace initiatives. As part of the OHS team, work collaboratively with People Services, Estates, and Senior Leaders to embed wellbeing into college life. Produce detailed and accurate termly reports focusing on safety performance and KPIs associated with the role. About You: Experience in a similar advisory role within education or a comparable sector. Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices. Passion for staff wellbeing with experience implementing and administrating practical initiatives. Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills. This role offers the option of 52 weeks per annum or Term Time Only (38 weeks per annum, paid for 43. 13 weeks per annum) providing flexibility to suit the right candidate.
