An opportunity has arisen for an energetic Graduate Surveyor to join our well established and highly regarded Development Consultancy team. Based out of our Farringdon office the team specialises in providing consultancy advice to most of the UK's top housebuilders, developers and land promoters, as well as local authorities and landowners.
One of the main strands of our work is carrying out viability assessments for our clients, helping to enable stalled schemes to progress. This generally involves detailed appraisal analysis (in Microsoft Excel and Argus Developer software), report writing and subsequent negotiations with the Local Planning Authority and/ or their appointed Independent Valuer.
We also regularly provide valuation advice to developers purchasing development land, and to landowners selling development land; carrying out valuations and then negotiating on their behalf. Where this leads to dispute resolution, the Partners also regularly provide Expert Witness evidence, which requires assistance from junior staff members. Applicants should have an interest in appraisal analysis and using Microsoft Excel and Argus appraisal software.
We are looking for a graduate to join our team and assist with carrying out the above work, whilst also providing some general administrative assistance. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, talented individual to be a part of a successful, forward thinking and sociable practice.
We would consider Graduates with some relevant experience and/or enrolled on their APC and those with industry experience looking to gain their RICS accreditation. Candidates will need to have completed an RICS accredited degree and are keen to sit (or have already enrolled on) their Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) to become a Chartered Surveyor.
Turner Morum are keen to sponsor and support the graduate through the APC process (on the Planning and Development pathway). They will be assisted by other graduates at Turner Morum already enrolled in the process.
Personality, motivation, pro-activeness, high levels of organisation, and excellent computer skills – particularly on Excel – are important requirements.
