LFF Spromak Engineering is a specialist manufacturer of forged piping components for the global oil & gas, nuclear and defence industries. Our products are manufactured and supplied in accordance with internationally recognised standards including ASME B16.5, MSS SP-97, API 6A and NORSOK, ensuring the highest levels of safety, reliability, and performance. We are seeking a motivated Quality Engineer to support our quality assurance and compliance activities. This role is ideal for a graduate or early-career professional with a mechanical or metallurgical background who is eager to develop within a high-integrity manufacturing environment.
Role Overview
The Quality Engineer will support product conformity, documentation control, and continuous improvement across manufacturing and inspection processes. The role involves certification preparation, inspection reporting, internal auditing, and development of factory procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Certification & Documentation
* Compile and review EN 10204 certification packages (3.1 / 3.2 as required)
* Verify material traceability and manufacturing records
* Ensure documentation compliance with customer and industry requirements
Inspection & Reporting
* Prepare NDE reports (UT, MT & PT as applicable)
* Produce dimensional inspection reports and verification records
* Review inspection results for compliance with specifications and tolerances
Quality Systems & Compliance
* Conduct internal audits to verify compliance with quality systems and procedures
* Support maintenance of ISO quality management systems
* Assist with customer audits and third-party inspections
Process & Procedure Development
* Create and maintain process route instructions
* Develop and update factory procedures and quality documentation
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and root cause investigations
Standards & Specification Compliance
* Ensure products meet requirements of:
* ASTM Standards
* ASME B16.5
* MSS SP-97
* API 6A
* Customer specifications and industry codes
Essential Requirements
* Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, or similar
* Understanding of manufacturing or inspection processes
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
Desirable Skills & Experience
* 1–2 years' experience in the piping, forging, or oil & gas manufacturing sector
* Knowledge of NDE methods and reporting
* Familiarity with EN 10204 certification requirements
* Understanding of material traceability and heat treatment process
* Experience working within ISO 9001 quality systems
* Knowledge of ASTM, ASME, API, or MSS standards
